The Perfect Sunday Reset Day Routine

Looking for the best ways to get your life together? This is the best Sunday reset day routine when you are in need of a refresh.

It can be easy to let the messes in our life accumulate. In order to keep from getting overwhelmed, a Sunday reset routine ensures that you can start every week on a good note.

As someone who loves a clean space, but doesn’t always feel in the mood to clean, I have found the best ways to enjoy your weekly reset.

This post is about the best tips for creating your perfect Sunday reset day routine.

The Perfect Sunday Reset Day Routine

Step One: Set the Mood

If you aren’t obsessed with cleaning, setting the mood before your Sunday Reset is crucial.

Romanticize your cleaning schedule by wearing a cute pj or loungewear set, making an iced coffee or green juice, putting on a good podcast or movie on in the background, or any other ritual that makes you excited to refresh your space!

Step Two: Wash Your Sheets

It can be easy to forget about washing your bedding regularly if you don’t have a cleaning routine that you follow. For cleanliness, and a good night’s sleep, wash your sheets and pillowcases weekly.

Starting the cleaning off with washing your bedding also ensures that your sheets will be washed and dried in plenty of time before going to sleep.

Step Three: Prep the rest of your laundry

While your sheets are washing, I like to gather all the rest of the laundry that needs done for the day and separate them into loads. This will make tidying the rest of your room easier as all of your dirty laundry will already be taken care of.

Laundry also takes the longest to complete and getting this out of the way in the morning sets you up for success for the rest of the day.

Step Four: Dishes

Similar to laundry, running the dishwasher can take awhile and being able to put away your clean dishes before you finish cleaning feels so good.

There is nothing I hate more than finishing a cleaning task when I am no longer in a cleaning mood.

Step Five: Tackle the Rest of the Kitchen

While the dishes are being washed I like to wipe down the kitchen. This includes countertops, stovetop, microwave, and appliances.

Depending on the flooring you have in your kitchen you may opt to sweep, steam, or mop your floors.

Step 6: Living Room & Dining Room Tidy

The living room, dining room and kitchen make up the bulk of most homes so getting these early in your reset day gives you the motivation to keep going.

Tidying up the living room and dining room furniture and surfaces can make a huge difference. Finish off with your preferred method of floor care, depending on your floors and you are nearly done with the whole reset routine.

Step 7: Cleaning your bathroom

This is the part of the reset routine where I start getting tired of cleaning. If you need an incentive to continue like I do, try this hack for motivation.

Set a 10-15 minute timer and race against the clock to finish. Speed clean the toilet, counter, sink, mirror, and floor. Setting a timer to complete a task you don’t wanna do can be so motivating!

Step 8: Groceries & Food Prep

Take a break from the grind of cleaning and set yourself up for success for meals during the week.

Start by looking in your fridge and pantry for possible meal ideas with ingredients you already have. That one simple step can save you SO much money over time as you are much less likely to let your food go bad.

Create a plan for groceries and either order or pickup the groceries necessary. If you meal prep now is a great time to prep your meals, otherwise you can clean and prep any fruits and vegetables you want to have ready to eat throughout the week.

Step 9: Bedroom Refresh

By now you should have a few loads of laundry completed. Put your clean sheets on and make the bed, fold and put away any other laundry, and finish by dusting and cleaning the floors.

Step 10: To-Do List

Now that you don’t have to worry about meals for the week or stress over your environment, light a candle, sit down with a snack or drink and enjoy your clean space.

To take care of the mental load for the week, make a list of anything you need to get done this week and put it in your calendar.

Mapping out time to complete necessary tasks allows you to let go of the stress of not knowing how you are going to get everything done.

Bonus Step: Everything Shower

You might already have a day set aside for an everything shower, but if you don’t you can end the night one! A long and luxurious self care routine can help you feel more rejuvenated and ready for the week ahead.

By now you should have plenty of ideas for a weekly routine that works for you here! These actionable steps can make a huge difference in your space, productivity, and mental health.

This post was a guide to the perfect Sunday reset day routine for tidying up your space, planning your meals, and getting ready for the week ahead.
